Equiniti provides sophisticated technology, administration, processing and payments services, delivered by over 3,500 employees and used by half of the UK population.
Following challenging strategic and structural changes 2014 saw the business open a new, more optimistic and positive chapter, with a shift away from restructuring and consolidation and towards growth and innovation.
Looking beyond hard targets
blue goose were asked to help the business look beyond the hard financial and operational targets the business had been focused on, and towards softer, more human-centric drivers of engagement, not least fun and enjoyment.
We drew inspiration and motivation from a challenge complementary to the business ambition: The UK Challenge, one of the UK’s leading corporate team building events. Equiniti secured three team places and we made the challenge a platform for employee engagement, bringing the organisation together with a shared purpose.
Linking it back to the business
Our engagement campaign – Fit for the Future – was built out from the themes that would be critical to Equiniti’s future: teamwork, leadership, strategy, trust and shared purpose. Positioning Equiniti as the ‘Home Team’ we inspired and motivated the team and their ‘supporters’ before, during and after the event itself.
A campaign microsite was updated weekly with team prep and progress, brainteasers, wellbeing tips and training support and always linking each element of the challenge back to the business challenge.
Bottom-up involvement of employees and top-down leadership and support helped ensure the challenge helped address both business and cultural issues, driving new levels of collaboration and dialogue.
