With more than half of its workforce spread across 21 UK towns and cities in over 40 offices, BNP Paribas was becoming increasingly conscious of the inequality of access to its one day only, one location only annual benefits fair.
Our response to this challenge was to completely rethink the notion of a benefits fair with a pioneering, UK-first virtual equivalent – designed to replicate and replace the traditional, once-a-year, resource-hungry, face-to-face benefits fair.
We delivered an experience where employees could ‘wander’ a digital benefits hall from their desktop, laptop or mobile device, exploring 25 different benefits through providers’ latest tools, brochures, and video content. And, much like at a face-to-face fair, they were able to instigate one-to-one chats (online) with representatives from the providers themselves.
Roll up, roll up
The success of the inaugural Spectrum VFair was aided by a dazzling, multi-channel awareness campaign harnessing email, divisional intranets, a new ‘Intro to Spectrum’ video and physical and digital signage with visibility in key locations within each Group Company.
The VFair earned us the Best use of benefits technology and the overall Grand Prix awards at Employee Benefits Awards 2019.
“This was very innovative. We like the idea about sustainability, and that it’s much easier to measure success; 91% said they’d take part next year, so it was proper engagement. This was very clever, and really supports an agile working model. This entry stands out; it was technology at its best, and the future being shown.”
