The Bupa Global Challenge is a significant and tangible demonstration of the organisation’s ‘Well World’ commitment to enable their employees, partners and communities to keep well and support a healthy planet.
It’s also the largest event in their employee engagement calendar, needing to reflect and reinforce the One Bupa cultural programme which aims to build a more cohesive and unified business, and engender a more emotional connection with Bupa as an employer.
Walking the world
Working with the Group centre CSR and communication teams we started by uncovering the amazing story and science behind walking. We then developed a communication strategy, a phased global internal communication plan and a creative platform that would work across multiple channels and geographies.
We then created the toolkits, resources and digital content to help Bupa Global Challenge leaders in 16 countries engage employees at a business unit level.
...and walking the talk
With over 100,000 people taking part, more than 450 events hosted in 16 countries and 260 million steps taken this was Bupa’s biggest ever engagement event. Unsurprisingly, almost 90 per cent of employees said it was a great example of Bupa fulfilling its core purpose.
