Employee Benefits Awards: The Finals Countdown

We’re heading into the internal communications and employee engagement awards season again this year and with it we are excited about our client L’Oreal being one of the Finalists at the 2025 Employee Benefits Awards for ‘Best Benefits Communications’.

We’re proud to have been supporting L’Oreal with their employee benefits strategy and communications for several years and already acknowledge this shortlisting as recognition for all the hard work put in by the passionate L’Oreal and blue goose teams.

This year’s finalist shortlist comes hot on the back of last year where the team won ‘Best Flexible Benefits Plan’ at the Employee Benefits Awards 2024.

Last year, the judges were looking for a successful strategy that effectively delivered benefits through a flexible benefits plan.

At the time, L’Oreal knew its employees wanted more agility, flexibility and freedom within their benefits proposition to support their wellbeing and as a result worked with blue goose to evolve its offering in 2023. The resulting reward strategy supported employees’ life goals; bringing together benefits, pay, recognition and wellbeing; while aligning branding and communications to encourage take up of benefits.

L’Oreal also developed a technology scheme; enhanced its income protection by reducing eligibility from two years to one day; and made its flexible benefits portal more intuitive. The transformation saw increased awareness and engagement among employees, and increased participation with benefits.

Visually striking communications

The Employee Benefits judges said the strategy was strongly articulated and executed, adding: ’This showed a clear impact on employees with vibrant, eye-catching communication materials.’

The L’Oreal team said: ‘It’s amazing to win. It’s extra motivation to do even more for our employees, it helps us to know that we are doing the right thing. Engaging with our employees and communicating about what benefits they have, how to use them and what’s coming up in the future is key. We’ve got so many good benefits and have tried to inform and get employees excited about what is on offer, which resulted in more engagement and take-up.

In anticipation of this year’s awards ceremony in June, blue goose co-owner and communications strategist, Milly James, added: ‘It’s a delight working with the L’Oreal team, a real partnership to create the best benefits and communications for their employees. Being a finalist again is testament to the great work from everyone involved.’
